A Cationic Oligomer as an Organic Template for Direct Synthesis of Aluminosilicate ITH Zeolite

2020

There are a large number of zeolites, such as ITH, that cannot be prepared in the aluminosilicate form. Now, the successful synthesis of aluminosilicate ITH zeolite using a simple cationic oligomer as an organic template is presented. Key to the success is that the cationic oligomer has a strong complexation ability with aluminum species combined with a structural directing ability for the ITH structure similar to that of the conventional organic template. The aluminosilicate ITH zeolite has very high crystallinity, nanosheet-like crystal morphology, large surface area, fully four-coordinated Al species, and abundant acidic sites. Methanol-to-propylene (MTP) tests reveal that the Al-ITH zeo…

Morphology, reorganization and stability of mesomorphic nanocrystals in isotactic polypropylene

2006

Abstract The morphology and thermodynamic stability of crystals of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) were analyzed as a function of the path of crystallization by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Samples were melt-crystallized at different rates of cooling using a “controlled rapid cooling technique”, and subsequently annealed at elevated temperature. Mesomorphic equi-axed domains with a size less than 20 nm were obtained by fast cooling from the melt at a rate larger about 100 K s−1. These domains stabilize on heating by growing in chain direction and cross-chain direction, to reach a maximum size of about 40–50 nm at a temperature of 433 K, with the q…

Ecological distribution and characterization of four collections ofBacillus thuringiensisstrains

2008

Four Collections comprising 507 strains of Bacillus thuringiensis have been analysed in this study. A different ecological origin characterizes each collection. Collection No. 1 was established from soil, dust, and grain samples from Spanish agricultural and non-cultivated soil, silos, and mills. Collection No. 2 is the result of a screening in olive-crop related environments in Spain. Collection No. 3 is made up of strains isolated from potato-growing areas in Bolivia. Collection No. 4 has been generated for this study and includes strains collected from diverse types of samples belonging to several habitats from Spain and Mexico. Crystal morphologies and cry1A and cry2 gene content were a…
